25 Days of Pride & Prejudice: Day 24 – The Memes In Review

Episode 6, Fourth watch

Mrs. Bennet is delighted to have one of her daughters married at last; Elizabeth sees Wickham in his true colors when she meets him again after his elopement; excitement builds when Bingley returns to Netherfield, bringing Darcy with him.

Dear god we’re almost done. This is the fourth watch-through and tomorrow, I’m going to binge through as much as I can and do a final wrap up and then I’m freeeeeeeeeeee!!

Look, I’m not gonna lie: Someone was hella rude about yesterday’s post and I’ve kind of been avoiding writing today’s blog because I just wasn’t in the spirit.

I know that I shouldn’t pay attention to people online, but we do read your comments, me especially, and I just wanna say that if you don’t like the posts… don’t read them. And certainly please don’t be awful about it.

I really don’t need anyone to announce that they didn’t like it or that it’s “the worst thing (I’ve) ever written” (which especially stung because I literally write for a living) and because I do this for free every year purely for fun and if it’s not fun for me… I’m simply not gonna do it.

I’m literally just another human, not some unknowable person on the other end of the keyboard. We don’t get paid for anything we do here, and never have. (The closest we come to perks is getting books and stuff sent to us to review.)

So I guess, for Christmas, my wish is that we all just be a little kinder to each other. Whether that’s on Twitter or Facebook, or across the dining table with your family — or sitting in someone’s drawing room while they talk about their imaginary accomplishments and how proficient they would be — let’s all be a little nicer. (At least until the new year.)

So that all being said — here’s today’s post. (Hope it’s not “phoned in” although joke’s on you bc I write all of these on my iPhone, so they are LITERALLY PHONED IN!)

I went through the last year’s worth of all of our memes about the 1995 Pride and Prejudice and pulled out all the best ones! There’s some in there that even I had forgotten about so I hope they make you laugh and smile 🙂

And also, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season surrounded by the ones you love ❤️

(Don’t forget, today’s the last day to share before we pick a winner tomorrow for our big Jane Austen giveaway!)

😘🎄 Happy Holidays everyone! -R

  1. I hadn’t seen the Chernobyl meme — that’s brilliant! Thanks for making the crazy days of December so much fun!

  2. I love reading these columns – each and every one! You keep being the fabulous, amazing you that you are – there are far more of us who love it than trolls searching for “fame”.(Incidentally, the phone tried to autocorrect “columns” to “Collins”, which was both timely and on topic, of sorts. I almost peed myself laughing when I reread before posting!)

  3. Big hugs to you, and might i suggest you tell them to get f*#ked. Your post, your words, your wonderful sense of humor. I love these yearly ’25 days of ….’. Including the randomness. Please don’t be discouraged by a half wit with his/ her head so far up their arse they don’t know where their sense of humor ran off to. Merry Christmas to you and yours. You are appreciated, thank you
